This is not your typical dungeon crawl. Unique intuitive and Euro-style mechanics that support deep tactical and strategic decisions combined with strong co-operation and a dark and deeply emmersive theme put Perdition’s Mouth in its own category. The game designers of Perdition's Mouth: Abyssal Rift (Timo Multamäki, Thomas Klausner and Kevin Wilson) set out to implement a new kind of dungeon crawl. One that embraces the European school of game design with clever mechanisms which emphasizes strategy while minimizing luck. Cooperation, planning and the enemy response deck eliminate the need for chucking dice, creating a tense combat environment with meaningful decisions! The rondels provide another tactical layer, including the enemy’s devious and challenging AI.
We are doing a second printing of the original Perdition’s Mouth board game! This will be a Revised Edition, meaning error corrections and new content, but no changes to the fine-tuned gameplay we all love. So fans that missed the first campaign can join the fight against the Cult. And those having the first print can sign in for an Upgrade Pack.

Dear Perdition’s Mouth fans,
We have exciting news in this unpredictable year with no normal conventions. Obviously, we were all excited to meet you in Essen Spiel, for our 13th time, but be it unlucky 13 or what, there is no Spiel in any traditional sense this year.
However, Spiel.Digital is taking place and we will try our very best to show you some of the new coolness. That same coolness we so wanted to show in person.
We are keenly aware that you have been anticipating Soul Spire’s release. We would love to have been able to do that, but this year has shown how fragile global logistics currently is. Making prototypes has never been more difficult than this year, as country after country has been in lockdown or logistics shut down. Obviously, we needed to make our own COVID adjustments, so we concentrated on testing the materials we had access to and making the components ready for production and we are now approaching a situation which we have never seen with Perdition’s Mouth….
We have final versions of almost all artwork before the campaign begins!
Soul Spire will be the last part of the Perdition’s Mouth Saga and we want to leave a lasting legacy. It will provide three playable factions, two new heroes for each faction and the same gritty game system tuning to create more variety in the mission goals.
But… yeah, there’s always a catch… It comes at a price:
It is painstakingly slow to develop such a huge project in current circumstances. We have no means for our team to meet each other, nor the usual game testers and the production of any demo kits is haltingly slow. Thus, with heavy hearts, we have made the reluctant decision that we need to postpone the Soul Spire Kickstarter to Spring of 2021 when the situation will hopefully be more clear. At least the current circumstantial slow-down will have given us the opportunity to provide you with the quality of product that you deserve.
In the meanwhile, it has not only been Soul Spire. Our team has been working on several other games, too. This year’s big novelty for Zanziar, the world of Perdition’s Mouth, is Dwarf, which is out now and available globally (except Australia where we can’t ship anything at the moment due to lockdown). Dwarf is on Autumn Discount until the end of October, so get your copy now from the renewed Dragondawnstore.

As fans of our games probably know already, we strive to provide something new for each game. This next campaign, Factory 42, goes back to the roots of Perdition’s Mouth: The Marxist society of Dwarven communities of Zanziar. This is where Olazábal the Dwarf comes from. "It defines a new angle of the worker-placement mechanism” - say our previewers and game testers who have played a wide variety of other worker-placement games. They have said it has no comparison.. It provides a new kind of contest, with aspects of negotiation, tactics and optimization puzzle, packed up in an extremely strong theme. We expect the first previews shortly before the Kickstarter, which is launching on 10.10.2020 20:20 CET. We are happy to announce our next major IP: Gray Eminence. It is a game that offers at least as much in the way of new mechanisms and unique theme as Perdition’s Mouth did when it came out.
Gray Eminence is a game for 3-5 players, lasting 60-90 minutes, in which players take on the roles of powerful puppet masters in the modern world. Each gray eminence* works towards achieving common goals but also has their own, secret, agenda.
Players use money, power and influence to steer a course through multiple factions towards their own inscrutable ends. Gray Eminence does not pretend to observe political correctness or historical accuracy but rather aims to provoke discussion about the world we live in. We suggest that all events in the game are plausible and event resolution options are within the range of real-world possibilities.

Dwarf, by Lee Broderick, got out of China just prior to the corona-virus shutdown and will reach Germany next week. Dwarf is set in the same world of Zanziar as all Perdition’s Mouth games. We aim to fulfil the Kickstarter orders in the next 2-3 weeks. It is available from our EU store in English, German and Spanish. The German edition is already close to being sold out…
As you might have noticed, a Perdition’s Mouth: Aisha the Witch mini-campaign took place last month. All existing material from that campaign has already been shipped and should have reached backers. The new materials are being produced and will be ready and shipped by April 2020 at the latest.
Note that this is a strictly limited set of English and German Aisha packs. There are no plans to produce any more after they sell out. Get your very own Aisha from here.

Dear backers,
As we’re preparing for Soul Spire quite a few questions have been asked about the availability of the older material. We can not reproduce it all, but this Aisha campaign is something we can do.
The updated Aisha the Witch will be made available in English and German for a limited time just after New Year.
We plan on launching the campaign on 01.01.2020 at 20:20 CET and it will run for 8 days. Let's see if we're the first board game campaign of 2020...
As an additional present, please remember that you still have time to participate in our surveys and be part of the raffle on 25th December when the game prizes are drawn.
Other than that, I believe it is good to know that Dwarf production is progressing well and we’re expecting the physical print proofs within the next 14 days.

We have prepared two surveys, one general one for scientific purposes, about the ideals of board game creation and a really brief one about our upcoming ‘Gray Eminence’ game. For every 25 participants in these surveys, we will put a game into a grand prize draw. This draw for your free games will be, appropriately enough, on 25th December. This allows almost three weeks for you to reply for your chance to win. The surveys will stay open after the prize draw until 7th January 2020, and in that time we would still appreciate your help. We sincerely hope you will participate at some point.
2020 brings new challenges as we are (finally) aiming to take the step into bigger circles and to produce more than just a single game product. 2020 brings a lot of interesting new things:
Gray Eminence Kickstarter 2.2.2020 20:20 CET. Our first foray into the world of topical, political games. Essen feedback can be summarised as “This is so thematic and nothing we have seen before!”. There will be a bunch of reviews before the Kickstarter.
Dwarf by Lee Broderick (in English, Spanish and German) is now being printed and will be available for delivery in May 2020. Pre-order it here.
Soul Spire, the last, and by far the most significant, expansion for Perdition’s Mouth will be kickstarted in Q2/2020. The exact date will be announced after the Gray Eminence Kickstarter has finished. Make sure you are on our mailing list to stay informed.
We also have two new prototypes for you to try out at Essen Spiel 2020, where you’ll find us at the usual spot from the back wall of Hall 2 - but now with a larger booth!
And, finally, after Essen 2020 we are happy to announce Singularity Sky, based on the book of the same name by Charles Stross will be coming to Kickstarter. It’s been a long road, but we believe the quality and finished game flow will be worth the extra wait. And of course, you might have missed the Perdition's Mouth: Cannibal's Howl which has just been fulfilled and is available from our store.
